The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserves office is seeking volunteers to assist with the Charlotte Harbor Estuaries Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring Network (CHEVWQMN) program. Launched in 1996, this nationally recognized water quality monitoring program provides data to assess the health of our local estuaries. Several reports and articles have been published using the data volunteers collect. Assistance is always needed area wide to collect water quality information by land or by boat. Volunteers who are in the CHEVWQMN program enjoy being part of a major water quality monitoring program that contributes to the protection of our local estuaries and resources.
